Focus on Local Issues

Candidates focus on LOCAL issues, not party priorities

Our NonPartisan government keeps divisive national and international issues out of Town Hall and leaves them in the hands of the people.

West Windsor is a diverse community, with diverse resident opinions on many national and international issues and laws.  Our smart and active community is involved in advocacy on a number of issues at all levels of government.

Partisan candidates and elected officials are representatives of national parties and tend to focus more on issues that are not directly related to the township and/or over which the township has little influence.  This takes away from time spent by both elected officials and paid township staff from local issues that are their responsibility. It also sometimes creates useless disagreements between residents and elected officials on controversial issues outside the township’s jurisdiction.

NonPartisan candidates and elected officials focus more on issues that are directly important to the township. Although they may have strong opinions on broader issues, in their official capacities and use of township staff and resources their attention is on the needs of residents.
